Welcome to Captains Close Primary School

We are delighted that you are considering joining the Captains Close family. Our school is a warm, nurturing and ambitious environment where every child is encouraged to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. We pride ourselves on strong relationships with our families and work together to ensure every child feels happy, safe and ready to learn.
 
Here are a few important things you need to know.

Starting the School Day

Mainstream EYFS to Year 6 and Pre-school

  • Gates open at 8:35am
  • Children can enter through either the front gate or side gate.
  • Children should be in their classroom by 8:40am, ready to begin the day.
  • The school register is taken at 8:45am.
All children access their classrooms from the playground and will be welcomed by their class teacher or Learning Support Assistant.
 
We actively encourage independence and ask parents and carers to say goodbye before children enter the classroom. This helps children settle quickly and develop confidence in their daily routines.
 
Morning break at 10am-10.15 for KS1 & Y3, then 10.30am-10.45 for KS2. Lunch time 12-1pm.
 
A second register is taken at 1:00pm each afternoon.
